Survivor of Ceremonies

Lynetta Kirsch

18 month Breast Cancer Survivor

Lynetta is an 18 month breast cancer survivor, diagnosed at the age of 38. She has worked for the Polk County assessors's office for 5 years. Lynetta has two daughters Brandi (16) and Shayla (20) who just got married to a wonderful man in June. Lynetta and her husband, Kevin, were about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

He went with her to every chemo treatment and they would say, "nothing says I love you like a 5 hour drip". According to Lynetta, Laughter is the best medicine!
Lynetta is now committed to raising funds and awareness about young women and breast cancer through the Alyssa Malchow Breast Cancer Fund. Lynetta and Alyssa met and became friends while both were battling breast cancer. Alyssa lost her battle and now her family and friends are working hard to get the word out to young women and physicians that breast cancer can and does happen to women under 40.
Lynetta is looking forward to the end of August when she will celebrate being a full year out of treatment and finally be able to become a Peer Navigator through the Salem Cancer Institute to help other women through their cancer journey.
